The library in Oakland should have a file on this guy. Unlike the other Pong cultists who used more natural materials, he used aircraft grade steel filament. It looped over his ears, through his brain and then draped behind his neck. Like all of the Pongs, he had beads (in his case knots in the cable) which he would yank through his brain in order to trigger full sensory memories of past experiences. The experiences are said to be just like you are there again. rom a practitioner's own real past (this is not a Jungian thing) and they seem so real that current reality is somehow blocked. In other words, you pull the brain beads and you are there (somehow). Generally, 7 beads or knots were used. Though 1, 2, 4 or eleven were also accepted by the Pongs. Aside from this aviator guy, it is hard to find stuff on the Pongs generally. This shit is extremely dangerous as you violate the brain / blood barrier. I don't think there are any Pongs left alive as of this writing. Mei Wu was the most outspoken. She died in 1961, in Buffalo, NY. Her family were not Pongs. They ridiculed her as odd and old and she died in penury. Mei Wu did leave a trace behind and, oddly enough, it is a big one with several important historical figures in the mix. Who cares about these people long ago? I DO! It is the season to remember.
