Tcl is a C language library of routines suitable for use as a scripting
language. Tk is an extension of Tcl aimed at building either user interface
controls or the components for them. With the tclsh and wish shells, they
provide, among other capabilities, the quick and easy development of Motif-like
user interface screens.

This book, written by the author of Tel and Tk, is primarily documentation for
those tools. In addition, however, the work gives substantial advice and
insight into the design of languages and the interpretation and parsing of
expressions. With the source code for Tcl and Tk, freely available via ftp,
the package would provide a practical hands-on experience for those interested
in the field.
